French hotel group Accor has reached an agreement with investment company Mawarid Finance to manage an ibis Styles hotel within its new headquarters in Dubai. The 200-key property will be located within the Al Jaddaf business district, close to the upcoming Cultural Village project and the Wafi Mall.
It will include an all-day dining restaurant and a lobby café, as well as meeting room, gymnasium and pool facilities. “We are delighted to embark upon the development of such a differentiated project and bring to life the ibis Styles Mawarid HQ,” said AccorHotels Middle East managing director and chief operating officer Olivier Granet.
“The unique nature of this development, combining office and hotel amenities in a single complex, will enable AccorHotels to further diversify our network of individually designed lifestyle hotels and continue catering to business travelers within the region.” Dubai apartment rentals are often boosted in popularity by attractive on-the-doorstep amenities, especially hotels, so the deal is good news for buildings in the area.
The property will be the eighth ibis Styles in the Middle East. This includes two in the UAE with the recent opening of a 251-key property at Dragon Mart and a 191-key property in Jumeirah. Granet said the property would meet requirements for midscale accommodation in an area populated with upscale and luxury hotels. AccorHotels has 70 hotels in the Middle East with more than 50 under development.
